Sign up to be a student volunteer and help us make the ACM FAT* Conference a unique experience for all attendants!
ACM FAT* is pleased to offer a number of opportunities for student volunteers, who are vital to the efficient operation and continued success of the conference each year. The volunteer program is a chance to participate in the conference while assisting us in preparing and running the event. It covers conference fees, but not travel or lodging expenses.
The call is open for graduate students doing research on fairness, accountability and transparency in relation to socio-technical systems at all levels (with priority given to PhD students) and in all disciplines including computer science, statistics, law, social sciences, the humanities, and education. There is no need to have a paper accepted at the conference to participate, and no previous volunteer experience is required.
Job assignments for student volunteers include assisting with tutorial, CRAFT, and research sessions and presentations, processing registrations, operating the information desk, providing information about the conference to attendees, helping with traffic flow, running errands, and general assistance to keep the conference running smoothly. The selection will be done by the Financial Support Chair in coordination with the Diversity and Inclusion Chair.
