ACM FAccT is pleased to offer a number of opportunities for volunteers, who are vital to the efficient operation and continued success of the conference each year. The volunteer program is a chance to participate in the conference while assisting us in preparing and running the event.

Volunteering helps those otherwise unable to attend the conference by covering conference fees in exchange for at least 4 hours of help with the conference organization.

The call is open to anyone. We especially welcome graduate students doing research on fairness, accountability and transparency in relation to socio-technical systems at all levels (with priority given to PhD students) and in all disciplines including computer science, statistics, law, social sciences, the humanities, and education. There is no need to have a paper accepted at the conference to participate, and no previous volunteer experience is required. Since the conference is hybrid this year (in-person & online), you can support us in multiple ways.

This year we have a limited number of opportunities. If you are selected, you will agree to:

  • Help with the conference at least for 4 hours.
  • Show up on time to your assigned tasks.

Applications for volunteering are now closed.

Please be in touch with questions by emailing volunteers@facctconference.org.
