ACM FAccT 2022 Call for Social Events

Description:

We are happy to introduce social events at ACM FAccT 2022. Opportunities to connect with FAccT community members around the world, especially in person, have been very scarce because of the COVID-19 pandemic. We hope that introducing social events organized by affinity or “birds of a feather” groups will provide additional opportunities for members of the FAccT community to foster new connections and collaborations.

We solicit proposals from all registered FAccT attendees on any topic related to FAccT’s themes or missions. Accepted events must be open to the entire FAccT community and should strive to create an accessible and inclusive environment.

We continue to highly discourage attendees from organizing any social events around FAccT that are not open to the entire community or that are based around corporate recruiting. Only approved events are permitted to use ACM FAccT co-branding.

What we provide:

The selected social events will be hosted on day 3 (June 23rd, 2022) evening at the conference venue right after the main program ends at 6:00 pm, KST, as an official part of ACM FAccT 2022. Since the FAccT does not provide any direct funding beyond providing the space, socials should find their own sources of funding if they require further services like catering. Figuring out local organization details will be facilitated by putting the organizers directly in touch with the venue’s staff.

Code of conduct:

Being part of ACM FAccT 2022, social events are subject to the general community agreements of the conference.
