The Le Centre Sheraton Montreal is a gentle uphill walk of about 400 m from the Lucien-L’Allier Metro station (Orange Line). It is also less than 100 m from bus stops on Boulevard René-Lévesque Ouest for the 150, 350, 355, 465, 480, and 747 Est (airport express) bus lines. (The 747 Ouest stop is 300 m away.) From the accessible main entrance on Boulevard René-Lévesque, it’s 30-40 steps to the elevators that serve the hotel. The entrance is on the Lobby level, (Level 1, or RC in French). The conference is held on two different floors of the Sheraton: plenary sessions are up on Level 4. Take the first set of elevators on the right to go up. Breakout sessions are down on Level A. Take the second set of elevators on the right to go down.
From the covered drive through entrance at the back, it’s also 30-40 steps to the elevators. From the back, the first elevators on the left serve Level A and the parking garage. The second elevators on the left serve the Level 4 and the guest floors of the hotel.
Note that the elevator that serves Level A does not go up to Level 4; likewise, the elevator that serves Level 4 does not go down to Level A. An elevator trip from Level A to Level 4 requires the use of the two different elevators.
There are also escalators, about 24 steps each, that go down to Level A or up to Level 4; they are immediately on the left upon entry from boul René-Lévesque.
It’s about a 5 minute trip from Level A to Level 4 and vice versa, whether on the escalators or elevators, but the time required will be longer when there’s a crowd.
Up on Level 4, from the elevator it’s 35 steps to the center of the foyer outside the plenary room, or 60 steps to the center of the plenary room.
From the center of the foyer, it’s 55 steps to one of the bathrooms and the accessible bathroom. The other bathroom is 60 steps away, including 18 steps up, as it is located directly above the first and accessible bathrooms.
Down on Level A, most of the rooms including both sets of bathrooms, are within about 50-60 steps from the elevator. There are a number of places in the foyer available to sit.
